Mission Statement
United Eastern Lenape Nation (also recognized as U.E.L.N.) is a group of people whose ancestry (by blood or adoption) is rooted in the Lenape or Delaware Nation. We are people who are choosing to follow the ways of our ancestors otherwise known as the Red Road.
The purpose of UELN and its people is to educate in the ways of our Lenape ancestors all of it’s members and those people in our communities. The program we use for educating children is simple and includes music, drumming, dancing, story-telling, a sampling of our Algonquin language and history of the Lenape people. We stress that we are people and that our Creator made each of us unique but equal. We are members of villages within our Nation but we are located in many areas in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware and Tennessee.
The UELN is concerned with providing the welfare of its people with education and support in following the ways of our people, including the Aims & Goals of our Nation.
Since the UELN is comprised of people of all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds, we promote unity in our efforts to walk in balance with our Mother Earth and each other.
The UELN is striving to become recognized as a sovereign nation (Native American) without boundaries which will enable us to obtain social and economic benefits for our people.
