Excerpts from the August Newsletter:
A Message from Chief Billy Blue Feather
It was a strong spiritual weekend. All were in attendance at the gathering. The Thunder Beings gave us some sky juice for our Mother Earth. We had some very special guests from the Munsee-Delaware Indian Nation – USA and also from the Eastern Delaware Nation. We had Cherokee, Apache, Lenape, Seneca, Osage, Shawnee, Dakota, Lakota and many many other Nations represented at the Healing of Mother Earth Native American Festival. There were many craft people with their vending stands, we made some new friends and renewed some old friendships. The feeling of Good Medicine was everywhere.
We performed a Native Lenape wedding on Saturday, which was beautiful and full of love. We also brought a young maiden into our Circle for the first time in three generations in her family.
On Sunday evening, with great love, I turned over the Nation to a very honorable man who is now our new Sakima First Chief Quiet Wolf. Much love and tears were shed.
At this time I wish to thank all who have come before me in my walk as Nation’s Chief. Many of you have taught me and given me your love and prayers…..you are the very special people in my life.
I know Sakima Quiet Wolf as an honorable and very spiritual man. The People love him and that in itself will help him to do the things than need to be done.
At this time I wish to thank our Creator, Mother Earth, and All My Relations, and you, my brothers and sisters. Just remember these parting words: Be humble, be strong, Learn from every word you hear and every word you speak. Listen to the Earth, the Waters, the trees and all creatures. Creator will guide you. No man is an island, but he can climb the highest by taking that first step. Spread your wings and fly, my family, and I will fly with you. Never give up your dreams, but always Dare to Dream. Keep your spirits strong.
Stand Tall, Be humble, and Love,
Blue Feather

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
I’ve been thinking for a week about what I should write for the newsletter. Plans of growth with our Nation and Brotherhood with others came to mind. Unity is not always being of the same mind or personality. Unity is acceptance of each others differences.
Reading is something that I enjoy doing, especially when I find something that is educational. I was gifted a book this week and can’t seem to put the book down for very long. Here’s a quote from the book “We and all upon the Earth, are very much connected – Each of us different particulates of the greater expressions of one consciousness, Human consciousness…..No two leaves on the trees are exactly the same, yet all together they make up the character of the tree.”
If we consider each of us in the United Eastern Lenape Nation a “leaf” of the tree, we can appreciate what a beautiful entity we are as U.E.L.N. When the tree is in full bloom with thousands of leaves, one looks at the tree and sees a magnificent structure.
Now there is a possibility that the tree has some leaves that are diseased or that have been damaged by the wind but as a whole this isn’t noticeable. In this way the U.E.L.N. is very different from the tree. When one or more of us is ill or at odds with another, it is felt throughout the entire Nation. We need to nurture one another. We need to help one another if there is a need to be filled. It cannot only be one branch that provides this much needed assistance; but the community must come together.
It is the responsibility of each of us to be aware of each others needs. Sometimes we get so involved in our daily work and family life that we become unaware of the needs of our brothers and sisters. One thing that we can do is to pray for the needs of all people in the Nation and ask Creator to keep us aware of what we can each do to help others.
If we each take our responsibility seriously, we will have a very healthy and beautiful tree in the United Eastern Lenape Nation.
Please let me serve you when you are in need. Remember, I am here for you.
Respectfully & With Love,
Sakima Bob Quiet Wolf (Chitkwesi Teme)
Principal Chief of the UELN

Dear Family,
Thank you for your encouragement and your unselfish help over the past couple of months. This has been a very busy summer with all weekends scheduled. I appreciate your participation in whatever way you chose to participate at the powwows, the 1-day events in Greenville and in Mantua. I appreciate your steadfastness. I know it hasn’t been easy to schedule these events in with your family life.
My heartfelt gratitude is extended to Chief Billy Blue Feather for his leadership of the United Eastern Lenape Nation. Chief Blue Feather will continue to share his knowledge with us in the future. Without him we would not be here today. He and Pam took over for Chief Sam Grey Wolf and kept United Eastern Lenape Nation together as best they could using the Wampums, including the Aims & Goals and keeping in mind the goals that Chief Grey Wolf had set for U.E.L.N.
We have been an example to others in our use of the Wampum Laws. As most of you know, Ray Johnson is addressing many tribes in the benefits of bringing back the Wampum Laws and living according to them. Chief Blue Feather, Quiet Wolf and I have been very supportive in this effort. We hope that the outcome will bring tribes together so that we can work together with common goals.
I will continue to support the Chief Sam Grey Wolf Goals, the Reawakening of the Wampum Laws under the United Eastern Lenape Nation and it’s newly appointed Principal Chief, Bob Quiet Wolf Thompson. Under Quiet Wolf’s direction, I expect to see some growth and some improvements in our Family Life. I know that Sakima Quiet Wolf has the support of this Nation and I am honored to be his wife and the Nation’s Mother.
With much Love and Respect
Morning Dove
